I haven't posted in so long I don't even know where I left off. I guess I will just try my best to catch you all up and go from here.
The kids are all doing great. They are climbing like monkeys and running like crazy. A day in our house will wear a person out! All 3 of them are talking more. Tyler's speech has really started taking off. He does have some trouble with vowels sometimes but is saying lots of words and adding new ones all the time. Ryan and Emily are both using 2 word phrases and I have heard Emily try some 3 word phrases but only a couple of times. They absolutely love puzzles and Emily can do them so quickly. Almost as fast as me.
I have made the decision to try potty training again since we tried at about 20 mos or so and didn't have much luck. This time we started out with a struggle and several days with no luck. I started to see a pattern of sitting on the potty and then going as soon as they got their underwear back on. I made the bold decision to try with no diaper or underwear and just let them run around in t-shirts. Surprisingly this has worked really well. Ryan and Emily are doing great. Now I have to work the underwear back into the situation. Tyler had a couple of good days but I didn't work with him unless he initiated it because he was scheduled for surgery and I knew we would have a set back. The surgery is now done and he goes back for a follow up tomorrow so he is in for some potty training of his own. I think he will do well. He has not been happy that they are getting M&M's and he doesn't.
There is never a dull moment around here and it can get really exciting when we go other places with no gates to keep them contained. I have found that our backpack leashes are my best friend. Lots of people criticise them and some even go so far as to call them abuse. I beg to differ when they all take off in different directions. I would think that letting my child take off would be worse abuse than making them stay with me.
They all love gettting out though. I don't think they mind the leashes at all. In fact they sometimes grab them and want them on even if we don't need them. They all do really well when we go out to eat. They love going to Maria's Mexican and eating chips and dip. They love salsa. Last time we had Mexican they were literally drinking the salsa out of a bowl. Crazy kids!! I decided to be brave and use a reciepe I have for kool-aid playdough. It turned out good and I think the kids liked it. Tyler didn't seem to really care for the texture and liked to watch me make things but didn't play with it much himself.
For Halloween they were Dorothy, Tin-Man (tyler), and Scarecrow(Ryan). They were so cute. We didn't go many places but they made a killing with the candy. Tyler found a girlfriend when we took them to the hospital to see the girls I work with. One of the girls who works day shift has twin girls that will be 1 this month. Tyler fell in love with one of them and decided to give all of Ryan's candy to her. Turns out Ryan liked her to so he gave her Tyler's candy! To funny! Emily played shy (a new one for her) and wouldn't talk to anyone, move, or even smile. She has gone from miss social to my shy one. Tyler and Ryan seem to be getting more social now than they used to be. Funny how they change so quickly.
Just guessing on weights but Ryan is for sure over 31 lbs. Probably 33-34 lbs. Tyler is about 24 and so is Emily. Tyler still looks like he would be weigh less than Emily but she is shorter. I can't believe how big they are getting. I think they are all starting to get taller and are starting to look more like little kids and losing that baby look. So strange to watch them change. Seems like I just brought them home. Doesn't seem right to be planning their second birthday already!
