We now have all of our beautiful babies at home. We arrived back on March 8, 2011, exactly 3 months after their birth. The homecoming was amazing! We had been home just a few hours when the power went off!!!! How fun. Our power remained off for 2 hours. The kids have all adjusted really well to their new home and their new room. Nights have not been bad so far but I am not holding my breath. With 3 babies things can change at any moment. My mom was helping me the other day while Rusty was at work, we were ready to eat lunch at 11:00. All of the sudden the babies all start screaming! Finally at 1:30 we were able to get some lunch. This may just be the perfect diet I was looking for. I can only eat when my kids will allow it!
For those of you who are wondering what life it like with 3 babies here is a little preview. I have 3 different formula recipies that all start with my breast milk and have different formulas added to them to add calories specific to each childs needs. We have all of our bottles color coded with rubber bands that match the large bottle of formulas that we mix twice a day. Each baby eats every 3-4 hours during the day and they have been going 4-5 at night since we have been home. When feeding time arrives we change them before we feed them so we go through about 8-10 diapers per day per child. Man do they go quick. The babies are awake more during the day now so we spend lots of time holding fussy babies and interacting with those that are awake and receptive. Ryan and Emily take the same medications twice a day but take different doses. Tyler has a different medication that he takes twice a day that must be given as close to 12 hours apart as possible. Emily and Ryan are down to just appointments with the pediatrition for regular vaccinations while Tyler continues to see the eye doctor at least once per week. His eyes continue to improve and the need for surgery is diminishing. They said if they have to do surgery at this point it will only slightly affect his peripheral vision. His eyes have been improving on a weekly basis so we are hoping we won't need the surgery at all. All of my babies are free from monitors and it feels great.
I want to thank all of you for your thoughts and prayers that have helped us get our miracles home and healthy. Please remember that even though we are home our lives are hectic and the babies are still vulnerable. We would appreciate it if you would call if you wish to visit. Visitors are difficult with 3 babies, not to mention the 2 dogs. We have to limit visitors due to the risk of illness as well as our sanity. I hope this does not upset anyone and you all understand. I am looking forward to seeing and talking with all of you and I know you all want to see these tiny miracles you have been praying for. I am sorry for the inconvenience but I feel it is necessary to keep some schedule and order.
