Friday the 13th!

What a wonderful day! Don't let the title scare you, all is well. My birthday sometimes falls on Friday the 13th and those are the birthdays I have always had the most fun. I just don't let the date bother me. This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it! Ok so enough about the date, on with the updates.

We had some new pictures taken the week before mother's day and hope to have them to post soon. I also have taken some video that I would like to post for you to see. I have a new video camera and have never transferred video to my computer from it. I will have to do some figuring out to get it accomplished so it will have to wait for another day when I have more time.

The babies turned 5 months old on mother's day. I had a great day. I went to the dog daycare to let out and feed our boarding dogs then came home to my surprise. Rusty had a banner on the TV (Thanks Michelle) and flowers as well. He had 2 of the babies sitting in front of the TV in their bouncers with another of my gifts propped up between them. He had taken 4 canvas squares and placed their hand and foot prints in paint on them. Michelle (thanks Michelle) painted their names on them. Holly, Jackie, and Michelle (thanks guys) helped him accomplish the prints! For those of you who are wondering why there are 4...He did the dog too! He said she was easiest because the kids are not treat trained! LOL

Ryan is a little over 11 lbs now and is doing really well. He started eating cereal and did really well. He is always so hungry! At our 4 month appointment our doctor told us we could start food anytime we felt they were ready. He did so great with the cereal from the first time on, that we decided to start him on food this week. We are trying a new vegetable every 3-4 days. We started Monday with squash (one of the videos I want to load) and then today we tried peas for the first time. It isn't always clean because he likes to feel it with his tongue and his fingers but he does use a spoon very well. So far he has had no real reaction with either of these veggies. He simply eats them just like he did the cereal. He doesn't seem any more excited or make interesting faces about tasting something new. He just wants MORE!!! He doesn't do very good at all on his tummy time. He doesn't really lift his head or use his arms to push but man those legs are strong! He can push himself across the floor like nobodies business! He is definitely going to end up with rug burn on his poor face if he doesn't start picking his head up soon. He is however really good at rolling over back to belly and belly to back. He doesn't like to do it when we are watching but we have caught him a few times.

Tyler is 9lb 10oz now so he has almost caught his sister. Ryan better watch out the little man is trying to catch him! Tyler is getting stronger everyday and loves to smile. He is getting better control of his head and loves to look around. He is quickly becoming very curious about everything around him. It is hard to keep his attention very long because he is so busy looking at things. He loves new places and new people that he can check out. He has also tried cereal and did pretty well with the spoon. He has had the most trouble eating and is just becoming very consistent with his bottles so I have not pushed the issue of food with him. He has had some cereal when he still acts hungry but nothing on a regular basis. We have not tried him on any veggies yet. Here is a picture of him sitting up with a little help from grandma.

Emily is 10lb 3oz. Told you Tyler was catching up with her! She is also eating well. We increase her bottle amounts regularly and no matter how much we give her it is gone in 5 minutes or less. She loves her food. With that said she is my worst eater when it comes to a spoon. She is just not ready yet. We keep trying every couple of days and she doesn't get mad but doesn't like to open her mouth. She prefers to try and suck the end of the spoon as if it was a bottle. She also has not had anything but rice cereal but I am sure her and Tyler will come around soon. I don't want to rush them just because we are feeding Ryan. They will be ready in their own time. She is my social butterfly and loves to have all the attention. She has such a beautiful smile! She loves to smile but only on her own terms. If you want to see it you will have to catch her at the right time! She is still needing support to sit up but is wanting to sit up more and more. She also pushes up on her arms when she is on her belly and can look around the room that way. She makes rolling from belly to back look really easy! Here is a picture of her in her bumbo seat.

I thank God again for these wonderful babies! I know this is the only way many of you see them regularly but they are growing so fast! I try to keep this updated as much as possible but have had a busy couple of weeks with appointments. The next couple of weeks look a little more laid back so we will see how it goes. Hopefully I can get the videos loaded and get some new snapshots. They are all sleeping through the night (8-12 hours) and seem to have a coordinated morning nap. The afternoon naps are still sporadic and they usually don't nap together in the afternoon. I am sure, like everything else, that will come soon. It is nice to have them all down at the same time in the morning because it gives me time to do other things or to nap with them. Now if we could iron out the afternoon I may be able to cook dinner a little early and not have to have people bring things or stop by fast food. I do appreciate those of you who have and continue to bring food. You have no idea how much help it is to not have to worry about dinner. My next big challenge when and how to work things out so I can get back to work. It is difficult figuring out coverage to watch the babies and what hours I want to work. I am sure no matter what we work out it will be hard in the beginning but it will get better. Hope to update you all again soon! Goodnight!
