Merry Christmas!

Ryan: 2lb 6oz. He is up to 11mL on his feedings every 3 hours. They increase it by 1mL every 6 hours. He had to go back on oxygen today. Not sure how long he will be on it. His belly is also starting to look a little puffy so I hope he will get to stay on his feedings.
Tyler: 1lb 15oz Merry Christmas to him and to mommy who got to hold him for about 1 hour today. This was the first time I got to do cuddle care (skin-to-skin) with him. I have got to hold him briefly (5 min maybe) while they change his bed, but nothing like today. I greatly enjoyed it and so did he. He did really well and was able to be off his CPAP while I held him. He almost instantly cuddled up and went to sleep. Very relaxed which was a huge improvement for him. All of his touching has been so negative that I was glad he got some positive today. He is getting his feedings restarted tonight at 1mL every 3 hours.

Emily: She continues to do very well. She is getting 22mL of feeding every 3 hours. Her milk as a fortifier that increases it from 20 calories (the content of breast milk) to 24 calories to help her grow better. She is 2lb 8oz today so it must be working! She continues to be off all her IV's and her oxygen. As far as I know her next step will be trying to eat with a bottle. I originally heard it would be about 31 weeks gestation which would be this week. I have since heard they will usually try around 33 weeks. So sometime in the next few weeks we should try. I do have her take her Binky when she is getting her tube feeding so she can practice her sucking. She is doing really well with that and even acts like she wants it now when she starts to get hungry.
