For those of you who wonder, yes I am crazy. Rusty and I both work full time jobs and own 5 rental properties we manage ourselves. September of 2010 knowing I was having triplets I opened a business with a friend. Now we have all this plus our children. Just in case you were wondering I have no plans on changing any of it!!!!

Well updates should get better now. I have a signal amplifier at the apartment and am able to get online without being kicked off every few minutes.
On Wednesday the babies were 1 week old! I cannot believe how much progress they have made in one week. For those of you who work in the medical field here is a little med surg humor. All of them have pooped so they must being doing well, right?! Ryan is on only nasal cannula oxygen and is doing well with it when he leaves it on. He loves pulling it out of his nose and getting extra attention from the nurses. He is getting 5 mL of milk every 4 hours and is tolerating it well so far.
Tyler is still on the ventilator and does breath some on his own but still gets tired and decides to let the vent do all his work sometimes. He does not do well with the stimulation of being touched and his oxygen levels will drop. Because of this he has to be sedated sometimes just so the nurses can do what they need to do without upsetting him. That has been my hardest challenge, not being able to touch him often and seeing him laying there so lifeless and not moving much. He does have pneumonia and is on antibiotics but his xrays are starting to look better. Hopefully when that is cleared up things will be easier for the little guy. He was getting feedings but they had to be stopped yesterday. This is pretty normal because it takes a while for the bowels to start working correctly.
Emily is not on any oxygen anymore and is doing great with it. She is getting milk continuously and they are increasing it my 0.5mL every 12 hours. When we left last night she was currently on 3mL/hour. She has not had any problems to speak of but tends to be quite good at having fits for the nurses when they try to work with her.
I had not been able to hold the babies and we were waiting on a Drs order. On wednesday, one of the night nurses asked how things were going and I told her it was good I just wished we could get that order because I desperately wanted to hold them. She was shocked that I hadn't been holding them and marched over to the nurse practitioner and got an order for me to do kangaroo care (skin to skin) with Emily and Ryan. I was so excited. I got to hold Emily for about and hour and Ryan for about an hour and a half on their 1 week birthday. There is no better feeling in the world. I am able to hold each of them one time everyday. They want me to hold them at least one hour each time which is not a problem, trust me! They both love it when mommy holds them, they sleep on my chest so peacefully! It is now friday and we are getting ready to head to the hospital. I have given up my chance to hold them today so daddy can do it. I hope they love their daddy as much as they love their mommy. My next exciting day will be when mr. Tyler is doing well enough that I can hold him also.

Here is a picture of Emily with nothing but her feeding tubes.

Here is Ryan. I held him while they changed his bedding.
